Case Studies - JetBlack Safety cleaning stations and booths
Removing powders created by brick production
De-dusting solutions for workers in and around respirable crystalline silica
Their Challenge
Working in a clay brick production plant is dusty work, and potentially dangerous due to respirable crystalline silica (RCS), which is found naturally in stone, rocks, gravel, sand, and clay, and can cause silicosis after prolonged exposure. Our client is one of the Australia’s largest brick manufacturers with production plants, quarries and selection centres in various locations across the country. Their health and safety team was seeking a safe solution that allowed their workers to quickly and safely de-dust from normal, or harmful, brick product powder and residue.
Our Solution
The company started with JetBlack Safety wall mounted cleaning stations to trial the technology and ensure workers would use the units.
But the company realized they needed dust containment for particular areas of their operations, where the majority of exposure to RCS was occurring – especially at the main production plants and their main quarry. The JetBlack Safety booths were introduced, because the booths are particularly suited to agitating and removing fine dust from workers' work clothes; a process which typically takes no longer than 30 seconds. The dust is then safely extracted away from the user and collected in the HEPA H14 extractor. At their sites, our client chose the hybrid BH05 booths for full cleaning options – hands-free air nozzles and a hand-held hose to get to harder-to-reach places. Additional (optional) HEPA filters were included on the booths to ensure higher filtration inside the booth.
Their Satisfaction
The company reports that the booths are being used and performing as expected to assist in their worker safety goals. Regular filter checks ensure the booths perform at optimum capacity, and are meeting local work safe recommendations for managing exposure to RCS.

Taking the dirt out of tunnelling
Their Challenge
Our client is a construction joint venture undertaking major tunnelling works in Australia. They required cleaning and de-dusting solutions for their workers exiting the extreme underground environment (drill and blast rock tunnelling).
Our Solution
Over the past few years, Dynamic Engineering Australia has been working with this client to supply the JetBlack Safety cleaning booths. They have a number of booths on site, located at the entrance to the tunnel works, so that as workers exit, they can perform a quick and effective de-dust. The BH05 Hybrid booth ensures workers can use the oscillating nozzles as a hands-free way to remove the main dust and debris, and then the hand-held hose allows them to blow out hard-to-reach places.
The BH05 booths require only a 3-phase power supply and deliver safe, blower-driven air at high volume but low pressure (no compressed air is used).
Roof covers protect the booths from the elements.

Portable cleaning solution in tyre repair workshops
How Bridgestone Mining Solutions made tyre repair workshops safer and more efficient
Bridgestone Mining Solutions Australia operates some of the busiest tyre repair workshops in the country, supporting mining operations with specialist services and maintenance for massive off‑road tyres. But with big tyres come big challenges—especially when it comes to keeping workshops clean and workers safe.
Their Challenge
During tyre repair, technicians generate significant amounts of rubber debris, steel fragments, and fine dust—especially during surface preparation and final buffing. Traditionally, this material was brushed away by hand… but the temptation to use nearby compressed air stations for a quick clean‑down was always there.
And that’s a serious risk.
Compressed air may be great for blowing debris off tyres, but using it on clothing or skin can be dangerous. Bridgestone’s operations and safety teams wanted a purpose‑built solution that removed this temptation entirely—keeping their people safe while maintaining the fast-paced workflow of a modern repair shop.
Our Solution
We introduced Bridgestone to the JetBlack Safety Portable Cleaning Station—an ideal fit for workshop environments.
This compact, plug‑and‑play unit delivers high‑volume, low‑pressure, blower-driven air that is completely safe for use on skin and clothing. The portable design means each technician can have their own unit right at their mobile workstation, with a long, flexible hose that reaches all areas of their coveralls.
No more relying on compressed air
No more safety risks
Just efficient, effective, and safe clean‑downs

De-dusting in extreme temperatures
Their Challenge
One of our clients is a rail company based in Queensland, Australia. Their OHS and Operations teams were seeking a solution that allowed their workers a safe way to remove the debris and dirt that covered them during maintenance on rail freight cars. Because of the location in very hot and humid conditions, workers could easily get drenched in sweat while undergoing their work, making the dirt removal more challenging.
Our Solution
We recommended the BH05 booth – JetBlack Safety’s Hybrid, which features oscillating air nozzles to remove the majority of the dirt, but also includes a hand-held hose and nozzle so the user can direct the air into hard-to-reach places.
Because of the remote location, it wasn't easy for the OHS team to trial or determine if the booth would be suitable for their conditions. So they sent some of their workers over to Dynamic Engineering's Perth warehouse, with their own PPE and worksite "dust", to conduct comprehensive trials - simulating normal dry conditions, and then on sweaty and very sweaty PPE.
The booth performed brilliantly and gave them a great result, as seen in the video above.
Their Satisfaction
The booths have been conveniently located on site next to areas where worker clean-downs are most needed - outside the blast booth so as workers finish blasting the rail wagons, they can go straight into a JetBlack Safety cleaning booth to de-dust. There's also a booth next to the repair bays, where workers do the welding and grinding.
Overall, the company is very satisfied with the performance of the booths because they are doing exactly what was required of them (efficient and safe worker clean-downs), and the workers find them easy to operate. The maintenance team also finds monitoring and changing filters very easy to do.
